Standards of Behavior
Piedmont Divinity School exists to equip men and women to serve Christ in a variety of ministries and vocations. In order to achieve this goal, the faculty and students of the Divinity School are dedicated to biblical doctrine and a biblical lifestyle. Through our position in Christ, the enablement of the Holy Spirit, and the support of fellow believers, we strive to live in obedience to the Word of God. Therefore, we agree to live in accordance with the following commitments:
- We commit ourselves to embrace those spiritual qualities enumerated in the New Testament including love, patience, self-control, purity, kindness, and wholesome speech (Galatians 5:22-26; Ephesians 4:22-32) and to live with godly character and personal integrity in light of the teaching of Scripture
- We commit ourselves to avoid those sinful behaviors enumerated in the New Testament including anger, deception, unwholesome speech, theft, drunkenness, and sexual immorality (Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 4:22:32; 1 Thessalonians 4:3)
- We commit ourselves to modesty in dress to demonstrate respect for ourselves, each other, and the calling for which we are preparing
- We commit ourselves to the biblical view of marriage between a man and a woman; immutable biological sex at birth; and that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, or homosexuality is sinful according to the Scripture
